Faces of the Feminine—A Journey in Search of Soul
In this multi-media presentation, photographer and filmmaker, Mike Ethridge, will explore how art can be a mechanism for healing the deep wound created by our cultural denigration of the feminine. Mike will share some of what he learned about himself during his two year odyssey to capture a variety of images of the archetypal feminine and how honoring the transforming aspects of the feminine can open us to new potentials and the cultivation of new life—a task particularly challenging for adult men who tend to be overly invested in their outer lives. Finally, through the exploration of the Jungian concepts of projection, integration and complex identification, Mike will examine how his pursuit of photography as an art form has aided his exploration of the unconscious and his own journey toward individuation.
