Please join us for an exploration of both the science and spirituality of lucid dreaming. Chris Cunniffe will review the Western sleep science behind lucid dreaming, the Tibetan Buddhist “Dream Yoga” tradition, and examples of how Jungian-inspired lucid dreamers have used the lucid dream state to consciously dialogue with “shadow” dream figures.
Learning objectives include:
(a) understanding the characteristics that distinguish lucid dreams from non-lucid dreams;
(b) gaining a historical perspective on the emergence of lucid dreaming; and
(c) understanding the potential therapeutic benefits of lucid dreaming.
Chris Cunniffe is originally from Long Island, New York. He has resided in the Charleston area for nearly 20 years. Chris studied economics and political science at Holy Cross College and then graduated from Harvard Law School in 1996. In 2004, he transitioned away from law practice and launched Harbor City Real Estate Advisors, LLC, a real estate brokerage company based in Mount Pleasant. To honor his growing interest in dreams and spirituality, Chris launched a second business, Lucid Coaching, LLC, in 2015. In his coaching practice, Chris seeks to blend his background in law and business with the intuition, wisdom and creativity that he has gleaned from studying his dreams.
